MSHRM Admissions

Admission to the MSHRM program is determined by a committee of management faculty members. The committee acts upon individual applications within a short period of time after receipt of the completed application. Domestic students should submit their application by July 1 (fall start).

Admission requirements include:

  • Current resume
  • One-page personal statement
  • Two letters or recommendation
  • GRE or GMAT Scores
  • Official undergraduate transcripts (not required for current WVU students and alumni)

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis once all parts of the application are received.

For non-WVU undergraduates or alumni, please have your undergraduate institution send your official transcript to WVU’s Office of Admissions, One Waterfront Place, PO Box 6510, Morgantown, WV, 26506-6510 or electronically to graduateadmissions@mail.wvu.edu.

International Students

The John Chambers College of Business and Economics TOEFL requirement is higher than the University’s requirement. Applicants must have a TOEFL score of 580 (paper), 237 (computer), or 92 (internet-based). If applicants have taken the IELTS instead of the TOEFL, the minimum score is 7.0. International students who have completed an undergraduate degree in the United States, United Kingdom, or Canada are not required to submit TOEFL or IELTS scores.

It is important to keep in mind that the MSHRM program has a required internship experience that all students must complete. Sometimes this becomes difficult for international students due to visa issues. That said, if you can find an internship in your home country, that would meet the requirement of the program.
