The West Virginia University Foundation announced the election of new members to its board of directors earlier in September, and two College of Business and Economics alumni are among the new directors.

Michael T. Escue, of New York City, and David S. Santee, Lake Forest, Illinois, have been elected to the Foundation board. Each will serve a three-year term.

Escue earned two degrees from WVU, receiving his bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1992, and his juris doctorate from the College of Law in 1998. He is a partner in Sullivan & Cromwell’s Financial Services Group where his practice focuses primarily in the areas of banking regulation and supervision. Escue advises numerous U.S. and non-U.S. banks and other financial institutions regarding U.S. banking laws and regulations. He has been with the firm since 1998.

Santee, a 1982 finance graduate of B&E, has served as executive vice president and chief operating officer for Equity Residential since 2013. Prior to that, Santee served Equity as executive vice president – operations from 2007-2013 and as executive vice president – Eastern Division from 1996-2006. Equity Residential is a publicly traded real estate investment trust based in Chicago. The $40 billion, multifamily real estate investment trust is the largest in the world.

“Michael and David are both highly successful alumni who bring a wealth of business knowledge and experience to our board,” said WVU Foundation President and CEO Cindi Roth. “I’m excited to work with them as we continue our mission of maximizing private charitable support for WVU.”
