the power of remote work

I started working remotely in 2011 and have never looked back. The best thing about working remotely is the flexibility.  I can literally work from anywhere and don't have to worry about a lengthy commute. I also find myself much more productive with my work as I'm not distracted by office politics and chatter. My employer loves that I work remotely because they save on overhead costs. They have also discovered that their remote employees are typically happier and produce better work results. Thanks to my remote position, I was able to move to Morgantown, West Virginia as part of the Ascend WV program. It's been awesome to share a beautiful co-working space within walking distance from my home with other business professionals. I've also been able to immerse myself in a diverse community with opportunities to learn, serve, explore, and network with the other program participants.
