Dr. Janet Fraser is a teaching assistant professor of Business Data Analytics in the Management Information Systems (MIS) Department and serves as coordinator for the Business Data Analytics and Business Cybersecurity Management master's programs and minors. Hailing from Vancouver, British Columbia, a lifelong passion for transportation led her to a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University where she was able to use data, statistics, and analytical techniques to dig into complicated transportation problems. During graduate school, Dr. Fraser was awarded the Christine Mirzayan Science and Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship, where she was posted to the Technical Activities Division of the Transportation Research Board at the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine. Upon completing her dissertation, Dr. Fraser worked for a Federal government contractor as a Transportation Systems Engineer on a range of projects related to the deployment of technology in support of transportation operations prior to joining the faculty at WVU. Dr. Fraser is also a certified emergency medical technician who sometimes forgets that traumatic injuries aren’t lunchtime conversation for most folks.
