Expertise

Mark is Associate Provost for Budget, Facilities, and Strategic Initiatives in the Office of the Provost. Mark previously served as the Associate Dean for Graduate Programs, Research and Executive Education and the Coordinator of the Management Ph.D. Program in the WVU College of Business and Economics. Prior to joining the WVU faculty in 2011, Mark spent 16 years in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University.

Mark’s research interests include trust, emotions, leadership and multilevel phenomena. His research has been published in the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Leadership Quarterly, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Personnel Psychology, and other scholarly journals.

Mark teaches organizational behavior and related courses across the undergraduate and graduate levels as well as structural equation modeling and research methods at the Ph.D. level. He also regularly conducts workshops on structural equation modeling and multilevel research/modeling.

Mark has strong connections to the profession. He is a former President of the Southern Management Association, a former Chair of the Research Methods Division of the Academy of Management, and served a three-year term as an elected Representative on the Board of Governors for the Academy of Management. He has served as an Associate Editor at Group and Organization Management and on the Editorial Boards of several journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Leadership and Organizational Studies, Journal of Management, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processed, and Organizational Research Methods. He is a Fellow of both the Southern Management Association and the Center for the Advancement of Research Methods and Analysis (CARMA), and also serves on the International Advisory Board of the latter.
