Dr. Schultz’s primary research interests are in the area of Behavioral Operations Management, the inclusion of human behavior in mathematical models providing insight into production and supply chain management. He is one of the founders and thought leaders in this research areas and is a special issue editor in the area for the journal Operations Research. One of his major research areas concerns how servers and customers change their service times depending on the load in a queue. His work has been published in the top journals in the field including Management Science, Production and Operations Management, and Journal of Operations Management.
