Jiahao (Leo) Gu, Ph.D., CFA

Dr. Gu received the Ph.D. in Finance at West Virginia University. Prior to joining WVU he worked in the finance indsutry for ten years, primarily business valuation and private equity investment.
Dr. Gu has taught courses in Principles of Finance, Financial Markets and Institutions,and Portfolio Theory. He also teaches investment, corporate finance, economics, financial derivatives, and alternative investments to help students prepare for the CFA exam.
Dr. Gu's research areas are assest pricing, investment, and option market. Specifically, he focuses on how to measure the asymmetry risk. He develops an innovative measure of option-implied market beta (based on AVIX) for individual stocks.
