Sartarelli to moderate panel at West Virginia Business Summit

When you gather together more than 800 of the top business leaders in West Virginia to talk business, several topics are going to get covered.

That’s the case of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce 78th Annual Meeting & Business Summit at The Greenbrier Resort, where one of the topics later this week will be how to make sure West Virginia students are college or career ready in the 21st Century. A panel of education/business leaders will talk about exactly that on Friday, August 29, with West Virginia University College of Business and Economics (B&E) Milan Puskar Dean Jose “Zito” Sartarelli serving as the moderator.

ALS Ice Bucket Challenge focus of study at B&E

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is taking the U.S. by storm. Oprah Winfrey did it. Bill Gates did it. Smack dab in the middle of his farewell tour with the New York Yankees, Derek Jeter did it. Former President George W. Bush did it anyway after he said he would write a check instead. Lady Gaga did it, and so did Michael Jordan. It’s impossible to scan your social media accounts without noticing it.

B&E Center for Career Development (CCD) Announces Fall 2014 Events

The WVU College of Business and Economics has long made it a priority to support students in their pursuit of employment. The Center for Career Development (CCD) facilitates relationships between students and employers and helps students identify career opportunities best suited for their interests and aspirations. This year, the Center looks to expand its outreach, and to encourage students to take advantage of their services earlier on in the year. 

“We provide comprehensive support from day one of the academic experience,” said Jennifer Bellucci, Director of the CCD. The job search process begins on their first day at B&E, and I would recommend for all students to begin their academic endeavors with the end goal in mind.”
