Bernie Wehrle

In a groundbreaking initiative led by John Saldanha, Sears Chair in Supply Chain Management, a radical shift occurred in the approach to supply chain education. Recognizing the limitations of traditional computer labs, Saldanha spearheaded the creation of the Wehrle Global Supply Chain Lab, supported by a generous gift in memory of Henry B. Wehrle Jr. This innovative space, inspired by the immersive world of "Minecraft," harnesses virtual reality (VR) to transport students to the frontlines of supply chain operations worldwide.

Through VR experiences and hands-on projects, students gain unprecedented insights into real-world challenges and solutions, preparing them for the dynamic demands of the global marketplace. As enrollment skyrockets and faculty numbers swell, the program's commitment to experiential learning and cutting-edge technology is shaping a new generation of supply chain leaders poised to tackle the industry's most pressing issues head-on.
