C. Lynch Christian, III, is President of Oakwood Holdings, Inc., a private family investment company that provides management and advisory services to firms in which it invests. He is also President of Continental Brick Company, West Virginia’s only brick manufacturer, and of Elderberry Nursing Home, Inc., a Virginia based owner of nursing home facilities.

Mr. Christian began his career in West Virginia as a summer employee shoveling coal at the Milburn No. 4 Mine on Paint Creek in Fayette County. After graduation from the University of North Carolina, where he was a Morehead Scholar, and from Washington & Lee University School of Law, Mr. Christian returned to West Virginia in 1976 to practice law with the firm of Jackson, Kelly, Holt & O’Farrell (now Jackson & Kelly). He was privileged to work with extraordinary mentors R. G. Kelly and Charlie Gage.
Since joining Oakwood subsidiary, 1000 Church Street, Inc., in 1980, Mr. Christian has worked and consulted with, invested in, and guided companies in numerous fields, including coal mining, mining equipment manufacturing, materials handling, hydraulic equipment, brick manufacturing and distribution, furniture manufacturing, land management and development, residential construction, non-destructive testing, nursing home facilities, educational software, benchmarking, and modular data centers. In all of these endeavors, Mr. Christian reports his greatest joy the privilege of helping and watching entrepreneurs, partners and associates young and old, grow their businesses and themselves.
Mr. Christian has been a member of the West Virginia Chapter of Young Presidents Organization, a 20 plus year Trustee of the Virginia Foundation of Independent Colleges, and currently serves as a Board member of West Virginia coal producer Ramaco Resources, Inc. (METC - Nasdaq).

Mr. Christian is married to Melanie Fort Christian, with whom he shares three children and three grandchildren.
