General Business

Having a hard time choosing just one area of business? General Business allows you to choose from many different career paths and customize your curriculum to meet your goals.

Interested in business, but not sure what path is right for you? Join our General Business program and learn the basic business fundamentals to prepare you for corporate management training. 

Undergraduate students in the general business program gain an overall understanding of business and how organizations operate.

Admittance to the general business program requires admission to the John Chambers College of Business and Economics.

Undergraduate students in the general business program gain an overall understanding of business and how organizations operate. Students in this program are well prepared to enter corporate management training programs.

Students plan a customized curriculum with their advisors, taking 30 credits of upper level business courses, but no more than 9 credits in any specific discipline. General Business majors choose the upper level business course electives from  accounting, economics, entrepreneurship, finance, hospitality and tourism management, management (including international and human resources management), marketing, management information systems courses, and organizational leadership.

Graduates work in a variety of industries, such as government, real estate and business services. Careers include sales, project management, business analysis and management.
