John Reale
Thirty-six year PepsiCo veteran John M. Reale is senior vice president and general manager of the Purchase, NY-based Pepsi Beverages North Division Leadership Team.
In this role, Reale has direct accountability for delivering full P&L topline and bottom-line goals. Reale’s responsibilities include delivering superior marketplace execution linked to customer and brand growth plans in 8 northeast/mid west markets and 13 U.S. States.
Bringing a wealth of experience, Reale has served as the senior vice president and general manager for PBNA’s Franchise Business Unit (FBU) in the United States and Canada. In this role, he had direct accountability for delivering brand and marketplace goals and driving mutually profitable growth with the company’s diverse network of 84 independent bottling partners.
Prior to his franchise role, Reale was PBNA’s senior vice president, brand development & commercialization, playing a critical role in linking key headquarters sales and marketing priorities to field activation and execution. He successfully led the PBNA’s commercial agenda in collaboration with marketing, field sales and supply chain, driving significant increases in overall innovation revenue. Including Dr Pepper, Crush, Schweppes, Rockstar and Muscle Milk, he also managed key relationships with PBNA’s allied brand partners, securing important contract renewals and delivering outstanding performance over the past several years.
Starting in 2007, Reale served as vice president of retail sales for the company’s North Business Unit, leading the function across 13 states. Beginning in 2003, he ran the Ontario South Market Unit in Canada. As vice president and general manager, Reale was recognized for superior cost and service leadership, as well as progressive talent development within the Canadian business. His Ontario market unit was recognized for delivering best-in-class topline, profit, and share growth in 2005. In 1998 he was named vice president and general manager of the Connecticut Market Unit (MU). Reale’s team grew the business despite the complexity of successfully integrating two independent bottling acquisitions into the MU. His team delivered consistent volume and profit growth for 12 consecutive quarters and was regularly recognized among the company’s best-performing units. Reale previously held several other selling and operational roles in locations including West Virginia, Western Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. He has been an instrumental advocate of PBNA’s multicultural efforts, serving various minority organizations and agencies in the communities where he has worked and lived.
Reale was hired by PepsiCo as a campus recruit in 1987, directly out of West Virginia University, where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration. He and his wife Lynne have been married for 30 years. They have two sons: Michael, 25, and Mason, 22.
