Stephanie Fletcher Long

Michael Baker - CFO

2026 Inductee

Stephanie Long earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration in 2006. Since then, she has accumulated 20 years of finance experience across engineering, consulting, retail, education and professional services.

Long began her career working with a tax consulting firm, followed by Deloitte — one of the Big Four — as a senior business analyst for the government sector. Later, she worked with the Education Management Corporation and then with health and wellness retailer giant GNC.

In 2019, Long became the Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis with Michael Baker, a $1.3B private equity-backed global engineering and consulting firm with 6,100 employees and nearly 125 locations – headquartered in Pittsburgh. She now serves as the company’s Executive Vice President and CFO.

Long has accumulated several achievements in her time at Michael Baker.

She drove 15% compound annual organic EBITDA growth from 2019 to 2025 and generated more than $20M in cash flow by improving working capital performance — including a 10-day reduction in days sales outstanding.

Long also led the acquisition of six companies and regularly represents the organization to investors, lenders and credit rating agencies. As well, she reorganized the company into four operating verticals, each designed to address the differing needs of clients – those verticals being: Infrastructure, Integrated Design and Advisory, GovTech and Mitigation, Environmental, Response, Recovery & Resiliency (MER3).

And despite her busy career, Long still makes time to volunteer and help WVU students. Each year, she volunteers for the Finance Professional Image Night, where she engages with students.
