Cost and Aid

The West Virginia Board of Trustees establishes tuition and fees annually. Visit  tuition.wvu.edu for current tuition and fees. The University reserves the right to change tuition and fees at any time.

Financial Aid

WVU has a strong comprehensive financial aid program to help you finance your education. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be filed before March 1. For more information go to the  Student Financial Aid Office website or call (304) 293-5242.

Graduate Assistantships

Graduate Assistants must be full-time students (9 hours or more). Your general application for the Ph.D. in Business Administration program is automatically considered for an assistantship position. No additional application is necessary.

Continuation of a Graduate Assistantship is based on a student’s good standing in the Ph.D. program and performance of assistantship duties. Funding is provided for four years, with an option for fifth year funding for qualified students.

Graduate assistantships include medical insurance coverage for the graduate assistant, a waiver for tuition and most fees, and a $23,000 stipend for the 12-month academic year.

Doctoral Fellowships

WVU offers several fellowships and scholarships to incoming Ph.D. students, continuing Ph.D. students, and master’s students. The fellowships and scholarships may provide students with stipends, tuition waivers, and/or research and travel support. Additional information about Fellowship opportunities may be found at  here.
