The career of Lee Bakalarski career has focused on risk advisory services and assurance. He has over 25 plus years of consulting experience with the Big Four firms, as well as expert knowledge in government, manufacturing, financial services, engineering services, health-care and insurance industries.

Mr.  Bakalarski has helped organizations to align their corporate strategy and culture to protect financial and reputational assets, as well as enhance business value.  His belief is that in both the short and long term, companies that succeed will be those that can manage risk, drive business performance, and achieve regulatory compliance in an environment in which these outcomes must be managed strategically and with agility.  He has been devoted to building and educating professionals on how to turn risk and compliance efforts into opportunities to drive sustainable business value. His engagement teams consistently started with developing the right approach to risk—one that enables organizations to seize competitive advantage by:

  • Improving risk intelligence and strengthening decision making and business strategy
  • Driving business performance through convergence of risk and compliance processes and programs
  • Increasing business value by transforming the business model to be more risk adept

His clients have been many of the Fortune 500 multinational entities as well as various US federal government departments.  Additionally, as a senior ranked United States Naval Captain, he has performed various special active duty tasks related to vital risk management projects for those at the highest executive level.  These assignments were vital to the mission success of the Navy Department policy development under the auspices of the Director of the National Medical Information Management Command, Bethesda, MD, and the Deputy Surgeon General, CFO-CIO for the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED), located in Washington, DC.

Mr. Bakalarski has a BSBA in accounting from West Virginia University and an MBA from the University of South Carolina. He is a licensed CPA in the states of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Florida and the District of Columbia.  Also, he is a member of the AICPA and various state CPA societies and professional groups.  Lee was appointed by the President, University of South Carolina to serve on the Board of Advisors/Visitors for oversight of the university strategic plans and development.

Additionally, Lee has served a number of years on the Board of Directors for the construction and building of the SSV Oliver Hazard Perry, a modernized War of 1812 ship replica that will be used  throughout the world  encompassing the motto “education at sea”, and will be utilized for both team-building as well as  seamanship education.  Mr. Bakalarski enjoys classical and jazz music and serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the international Newport Music Festival, held annually in Newport, Rhode Island.
