Scholarships for Incoming Freshmen WV Residents  

Incoming freshmen with high school GPAs and test scores in each of the following categories receive the corresponding scholarships from WVU in addition to other scholarships they may receive, such as the WV PROMISE Scholarship:

You pay approximately $4,000 a year if:

Scholarship of Distinction Level 1:
3.8 GPA+ and an ACT of 30 or SAT of 1400
You qualify for a scholarship of $4,000 per year

Dean’s Scholarship Level 1:
3.5 GPA+ and an ACT of 27 or SAT of 1290
You qualify for a scholarship of $2,000 per year

You pay approximately $5,000 a year if:

Scholarship of Distinction Level 2:
3.5 GPA+ and an ACT of 26 or SAT of 1260
You qualify for a scholarship of $3,000 per year

Dean’s Scholarship Level 1:
3.5 GPA+ and an ACT of 27 or SAT of 1290
You qualify for a scholarship of $2,000 per year

You pay approximately $5,500 a year if:

Scholarship of Distinction Level 2:
3.5 GPA+ and an ACT of 26 or SAT of 1260
You qualify for a scholarship of $3,000 per year

Dean’s Scholarship Level 2:
3.5 GPA+ and an ACT of 24 or SAT of 1180
You qualify for a scholarship of $1,500 per year

You pay approximately $6,000 a year if:

Scholarship of Distinction Level 3:
3.25 GPA+ and an ACT of 24 or SAT of 1180
You qualify for a scholarship of $2,500 per year

Dean’s Scholarship Level 2:
3.5 GPA+ and an ACT of 24 or SAT of 1180
You qualify for a scholarship of $1,500 per year

You pay approximately $7,500 a year if:

Scholarship of Distinction Level 3:
3.25 GPA+ and an ACT of 24 or SAT of 1180
You qualify for a scholarship of $2,500 per year

You pay approximately $8,500 a year if:

Scholarship of Distinction Level 4:
3.0 GPA+ and an ACT of 22 or SAT of 1110
You qualify for a scholarship of $1,500 per year
