Accelerated Master’s to DBA

For students who don’t have a master’s degree, we offer an opportunity for you to complete a master’s and the DBA on an accelerated timeline.

If you want to do the Accounting AoE, you will need to apply and be admitted to the Forensic and Fraud Examination (FFE) master’s degree program. DBA courses will be used to complete the FFE AoE requirement. Twelve hours will be used by both degrees, completing both by taking 71 hours rather than the 83 hours that it would take to complete a 30 hour master’s and a 53 hour DBA.

If you want to do the Economics AoE, you will need to apply and be admitted to the master’s of Economics (MSECON) degree program. DBA courses will be used to complete electives in the MSECON. Twelve hours will be used by both degrees, completing both by taking 71 hours rather than the 83 hours that it would take to complete a 30 hour master’s and a 53 hour DBA.

If you want to do the Management AoE, you will need to apply and be admitted to the Online MBA (OMBA) degree program. DBA courses will be used to complete OMBA requirements. Twelve hours will be used by both degrees, completing both by taking 71 hours rather than the 83 hours that it would take to complete a 30 hour master’s and a 53 hour DBA.

If you want to do the Marketing AoE, you will need to apply and be admitted to the Online MBA (OMBA) degree program. DBA courses will be used to complete OMBA requirements. Nine hours will be used by both degrees, completing both by taking 74 hours rather than the 83 hours that it would take to complete a 30 hour master’s and a 53 hour DBA.

Admission into the DBA is not guaranteed upon admission to the master’s. Your application will be reviewed along with all other applications. Admission is competitive.

Be sure to notify your advisor that this is your plan upon your admission to the master’s degree. It is important that this information is known upon the start of your degree so that you are advised correctly.
