Admissions

Admission to the M.S. in Human Resource Leadership program is determined by a committee of faculty members. The committee acts upon individual applications within a short period of time after receipt of the completed application. Domestic students should submit their application by July 1 (fall start). Note: International students complete their application well in advance of March 1 (fall start.

The GRE/GMAT is not required for applicants with an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or better.

Admission requirements include:

  • One-page personal statement

“Describe your academic background and work experience (roles and responsibilities) that prepare you for a graduate degree in human resource management. Give reasons why you would like to pursue the online M.S. in Human Resource Leadership program at WVU.”

  • Current resume
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Official undergraduate transcripts (not required for current WVU students and alumni)

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis once all parts of the application are received.

International Students

The John Chambers College of Business and Economics TOEFL requirement is higher than the University’s requirement. Applicants must have a TOEFL score of 580 (paper), 237 (computer), or 92 (internet-based). If applicants have taken the IELTS instead of the TOEFL, the minimum score is 7.0. International students who have completed an undergraduate degree in the United States, United Kingdom, or Canada are not required to submit TOEFL or IELTS scores.
