Where do I go if I still need help with my schedule?

Our in-house, professionally staffed advising office is here to help you with course selection and other campus services. They are located in Reynolds Hall room 2200 and take walk-ins! Their contact information is:

What kind of computer should I use?

Overall, the Chambers College recommends that students use a Windows based machine. The following majors have more information.

  • Accounting - The accounting profession is PC based. While some students may prefer and select a MAC or Apple product, this may require work arounds, or that a student use a WVU computer lab to complete some assignments. It is the student’s responsibility to anticipate and complete any extra effort and time that is required when using MAC or Apple products.
  • Management Information Systems – A Windows based machine is recommended. Apple will work if it has Boot Camp.
  • Supply Chain Management - Preference is for a Windows laptop with fast CPU and high RAM. MacBook Pros may also work but students will experience less support for Apple devices at Chambers.

When can I start an internship?

When you are ready! Most students start internships after their sophomore or junior year.

Who can help me get an internship?

Our Center for Career Development (REH 3rd Floor) can help you with your resume, cover letters, interviews, and the job search! Also, they offer individualized career exploration, planning, and job search strategies!

Where can I get an on-campus job?

Visit the Office of Student Employment at https://studentemployment.wvu.edu/ . Also be sure to check with individual departments within the Chambers College or Handshake!

What is Handshake?

Handshake is a system that allows you to navigate the internship and job search process. It increases students’ access to nationwide opportunities, interviews, career fairs, connection with employers!

Where can I apply for housing?

Visit https://housing.wvu.edu/ and complete the housing application!

What are the closest residence halls to the business college?

Summit, Seneca, Dadisman, Boreman, and Stalnaker Halls!

Is transportation free?

Yes! You have access to the Mountain Line buses and PRT with your student ID!

Can I have a car my freshman year?

Most freshman do not bring their cars to campus their freshman year. Visit Office of Transportation and Parking for questions at: https://transportation.wvu.edu/

What is the average class size of upper-division courses?

Anywhere between 30-50 students depending on major.

What is the average class size of introductory classes?

Most classes are 20-30 students, but you could have introduction lectures that are 120 students. Our freshman seminar class is ~20 students.

What is the freshman seminar class?

We offer a college-specific freshman seminar to assist in the transition to college. Students attend study hours in our tutoring center, attend career fairs, and explore the services available to Chambers Students.

Is tutoring free?

Yes! We have our own in-house tutoring center that offers a wide array of services. Check our the AeSC at https://business.wvu.edu/students/aesc

Do you have an honors college?

Yes! We have Chambers Honors Advisors to support you with adding honors sections to your schedule. Also, honors students have priority registration, the opportunity to live in Honors Hall, and participation in other honors community activities.

What kind of learning disability resources do you have?

Do you offer study abroad?

Yes! WVU and the Chambers College both offer study abroad experiences. Through our Robbins Center for Global Business and Strategy, we offer college-specific experiences. Check out our trips here: https://business.wvu.edu/students/study-abroad

What percentage of the study body belongs to a sorority or fraternity?

Campus wide around ~8-12%. We also have business-specific fraternities such as Delta Sigma Pi and Phi Beta Lambda!

How much are student football tickets?

Athletic tickets are free for students! If you join the Mountaineer Maniacs (student organization), you get guaranteed football and basketball tickets. The Maniacs section is in the lower bowl of the stadium, making you closer to the field!

What clubs do you have on campus?

What is Adventure WV?

Adventure offers a wide array of outdoor programs including first-year trips. First-year trips help students transition to college and there is a variety of trips. We are offering 5 Chambers-specific trips this summer. If you attend a Chambers trip, you will be reimbursed the $95 registration fee. Making the trip free!

Does Adventure offer other programs besides first year trips?

Do you offer graduate programs?

Yes, we offer a variety of graduate programs including MBAs, MS in Industrial Relations, Forensic and Fraud Examination, Business Data Analytics, and much more. Browse our programs at https://business.wvu.edu/academics.

Is the MBA program one or two years?

The MBA program is an 18-month program beginning the summer following your graduation. You would graduate with your MBA the following spring!
