How to Work a Virtual Career Fair: Navigating the System and Discovering the Right Employers

All Majors: Freshmen-Graduate Students
Although the event will look a little different this year, there are a variety of ways to make sure that you’re ready to stand out to potential employers. During this workshop, you will learn how to navigate Handshake's new virtual career fair platform, discover interesting employers, and register for one-on-one meetings or group info sessions.
Recharge Your Resume: One-On-One Reviews
February 16 | 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Audience:
All Majors: Sophomores-Graduate Students
Whether you’re applying for part-time campus jobs, internships, or full-time opportunities, a great resume is how you get your foot in the door of any organization. Make sure your resume is ready to impress by signing up for a 30-minute session with one of our employer partners.

All Majors: Freshmen-Graduate Students

During this workshop, you will learn how to engage employers in the right type of conversation as well as gain tips on networking and personal branding through the eyes of an employer.

February 25 | 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. | Handshake's Virtual Career Fair Platform
Audience: All Majors; Freshmen-Graduate StudentsHandshake has taken virtual career fairs to the next level! They’ve designed their new platform with the student experience in mind: interactive videos, detailed search capabilities, and easy follow up with employers of interest. You will get one-on-one face time with recruiters hiring your major—from wherever you are. And the best part? No lines!
Why Should You Attend? Attending virtual career fairs on Handshake will give you an edge in landing that next job or internship. This isn’t just an information-gathering exercise—this is your chance to meet employers, secure interviews, and build your professional network.
During this event, you will have two different ways to connect directly with employers:
- 10-minute 1:1 meetings with employers. You will be able to search and sign up for sessions with employers targeting your major.
- 30-minute mini info sessions. Organizations will take a deep dive in career paths, organizational culture, and other important topics to help you determine if their company is a fit for you.
