Drop by these open resume review sessions and fine-tune your resume with the help of recruiters and HR professionals. Make sure you’re just as prepared on paper as you are in person! B&E students looking for a very detailed review or those who need help creating an initial resume should schedule an appointment by calling 304-293-6575.

The perfect handshake. A compelling elevator pitch. A well-tailored suit. These are just a few of the things students need to successfully navigate a career fair. Learn networking tips from current students who landed an internship from the Chambers College Career Fair last year!

Mock Interview Days

September 9-10 | Various Time Options | Center for Career Development

Mock Interview Days gives students the opportunity to participate in interviews with HR professionals from top organizations while gaining valuable feedback and networking with industry experts.

John Chambers College of Business and Economics Career Fair

September 11 | 1 :00 to 5:00 p.m. | Student Recreation Center

All Chambers College students—freshmen through graduate—are encouraged to attend the career fair to connect with employers from a variety of industries. Attendees will have the chance to meet potential employers, seek on-site interviews, and build their professional network.

Statler College Career Fair

September 12 | 10 :00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. | Student Recreation Center

The Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources Career Fair connects employers with students who are seeking internships, co-ops, or full-time opportunities in engineering, computer science, or safety management. MIS, Supply Chain, and MBA students are highly encouraged to attend this event as well as the Chambers College Career Fair (though all students are welcome).

Think Like a Recruiter

September 26 | 5:3 0 to 6:30 p.m. | Ming Hsieh Hall 122

If you've ever been intimidated by the job search process and wished you could peak inside the mind of a recruiter—this session is for you! What do they think about your resume? Why is the application process so long? How many follow up emails is too many? All your questions will be answered during this interactive session led by Jim McGinn, WVU alum and Chief Technologist at Infinitive.

You’ll also learn how to evaluate a company’s culture and determine if you’d be a good fit—interviews are a two-way street, after all.

JCPenney Suit-Up Event

September 22 | 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. | JCPenney at the Morgantown Mall

Shop exclusive discounts on career and professional attire. Purchase suits, dresses, sport coats, pants, skirts, blouses, ties and shoes to build a career wardrobe.

WVU Career & Internship Fair

September 25 | 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. | Mountainlair Ballrooms

The WVU Career & Internship Fair hosts employers from diverse industries, non-profits, government, and military branches. Students will have the opportunity to meet with potential employers, seek on-site interviews and network with professionals.

Insights from Interns: How to Land and Succeed in an Internship

October 8 | 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. | Ming Hsieh Hall, Room G21

During this interactive panel, you will learn what it takes to have a successful internship. Current students, recent graduates, and recruiters will discuss tips for landing an internship, what to expect on the job, how to impress your boss, and ways to convert your experience into a full-time offer.

ProfessionalDevelopment Conference

October 25 | Mountainlair Ballrooms
Freshman and Sophomore Sessions – 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Junior, Senior, and Graduate Sessions – 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

The Professional Development Conference will prepare students to compete in a competitive global job market through a diverse line-up of speakers. Concurrent session topics will address the needs of freshman still formulating their career goals through seniors and graduate students getting ready to embark on their first full-time job. The majority of session speakers will be industry experts in the areas of career exploration, personal branding, building a professional network, interview skills and job search strategies.

CCD Student Appreciation Day

December 4 | 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. | B&E 3 rd Floor Atrium

We want to celebrate all the hard work our B&E students have accomplished. Stop by to connect with the CCD team. Attendees will also enjoy refreshments, career games, and prize drawings.
