Storytelling

Tell Your Story. Make Your Mark.

Our story is our identity, and we can’t tell it without our community.

Maybe you have a student who's overcome great difficulty on the road to triumph. Maybe one of your classes is visiting an employer to learn the ins and outs of the professional world. Maybe you just want to advertise an interesting new course or program

If you have a lead for a feature, blog post, or something else entirely, just get in touch. We’d love to turn your idea into the latest chapter of the Chambers College story.

In addition to the features that our office produces independently, we offer several ways for community members like you to help spread the word:

  • Guest blogs : Some stories are best told by the primary source. Whether you want to recap an event or advertise a college resource, we can help you write, edit, and publish a blog post on our website. We get more content, and you get a publication to your name. Everybody wins.
  • Social media: A picture is worth a thousand words, but sometimes you only need ten. Even if you think your lead doesn’t merit a full-length story, send it to us. We might be able to use it on our social media channels – and that’s where the real publicity happens. [Not sure about a link for this section. Share Good News?]
  • Research publications: We work with WVU Strategic Communications and Marketing to boost visibility for public-facing research that could have a tangible impact on the average person. Trained communications personnel will help you translate your work into an article that will attract a broad audience.
  • Press releases: The Chambers College StratComm office does not write or publish press releases. If you have something that you feel might be newsworthy, like a major announcement or upcoming event, we’ll work with WVU Strategic Communications and Marketing to determine whether it’s appropriate for media publication.
