Academic Mindset for Success Program
The Academic Mindset for Success Program is an academic support program offered to all students in the John Chambers College of Business and Economics and may be required or strongly encouraged for students who are not in good academic standing. The overall goal of the program is to empower students to excel academically and reach their optimal academic potential. The program is designed to promote effective academic practices and behaviors through a student-centered approach that promotes resilience, self-efficacy, self-authorship, and self-advocacy. Our program has three tracks to support all students as they navigate their academic journey returning to good academic standing.
A student with an overall grade point average (GPA) below 2.0 will be placed on academic notice or academic probation and may be subject to suspension. Any current student on academic notice or probation can raise their overall GPA to avoid academic suspension. All first-time freshmen not in good academic standing are required to complete Mid-year Academy. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors, not in good academic standing have the option to complete MYA and can opt in to work with an Academic Success Consultant. Please view the probation and suspension policies here.
Students will be contacted by the Chambers College’s Mr. Micah Reed with information about how to participate. Learn more about Academic Success Consultations.
