MBA Essentials is for fast-track professionals who need to learn about best business practices for immediate practical application. It provides a foundation in current business theory and practice and enhances participants' knowledge and skills needed to make informed business decisions on issues affecting organizations today. Facilitated through the use of case studies, lectures, problem-solving exercises and interactive class sessions, this credit granting program is designed to meet the need of today's emerging leaders. In the program's opening session, at times led by WVU President David C. Hardesty, participants explore the key elements of successful leadership. In the second session, the participants will then uncover their own leadership characteristics using the DiSC leadership profile method. The program will then explore topics such as organizational behavior, marketing, financial and managerial accounting, economics and finance, negotiations and conflict resolution, contract law and information resource management.
Individuals successfully completing the course will receive the MBA Essentials Certificate and appropriate Continuing and Professional Education Credit. Successful completion results in three WVU college credit or a one-course reduction in the degree requirements for the WVU OHMBA Program.
