MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The nomination process for the 2022 West Virginia Business Hall of Fame is open until Dec. 3.
Sponsored annually by the West Virginia University John Chambers College of Business and Economics, the Business Hall of Fame is part of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting and Business Summit to honor and recognize those with strong West Virginia ties who have made a significant impact on the business landscape.
“West Virginia has many success stories, and the Business Hall of Fame honors the deserving visionaries, pioneers and innovators who have transformed the business landscape to move us into the future,” said W. Marston “Marty” Becker, chairman of the Hall of Fame Committee and a 2009 inductee.
Since its 2001 inception, 72 individuals have been inducted into the West Virginia Business Hall of Fame. Each inductee has either been educated in West Virginia, built their careers in West Virginia or are native West Virginians.
Gregory A. Burton, Executive Chairman of Encova Mutual Insurance Group; Harry “Hap” Esbenshade III, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Mountain Company and Laurel Management Group; Arthur Gabriel, co-founder, secretary, treasurer and president of Gabriel Brothers; and Diana Lewis Jackson, president and founder of Action Facilities Management comprised the 2020-’21 Hall of Fame class.
Nominations are not limited to West Virginia University alumni; nominations from all West Virginia colleges and universities are welcomed and encouraged. Nominees will be judged on outstanding business performance coupled with high standards of ethics.

The 2022 West Virginia Business Hall of Fame ceremony will be held Sept. 1 as part of the annual West Virginia Annual Meeting and Business Summit.
