Arria Hines is one of those leaders. She effectively drives results through collaboration, partnerships, and relationships. As CEO & President of a rapidly growing business in federal contracting, Arria is all about value and performance. With an enthusiastic and genuinely friendly attitude, Arria radiates a sincere passion for delivering value to her customers.
Arria’s professional career has taken many turns on the entrepreneurial pathway to co-founding Allegheny Science & Technology (AST) in 2009. An accountant by training, efficiency is the bottom line of her success. Arria earned her B.S in Accounting at WV Wesleyan College and her MBA from West Virginia University. She is an entrepreneur at heart, starting her first small business, Windows by Arria, in the basement of her home in 1989. Her program management career kicked-off as Project Manager for the construction of an Arnold Palmer designed 18 hole golf course. This leadership role led to her next opportunity as a key strategic contributor at SAIC as Director of Programs, where she provided oversight for an operation exceeding $120 million in annual revenue.
Throughout it all, Arria has repeatedly proven her excellence in leading through diverse and challenging situations. As a Program Management Institute certified Program Management Professional (PMP), she has a documented track record of accomplishments. From the personal challenges of working two jobs while raising three children to the start-up and management of Allegheny Science & Technology, Arria has grown personally and professionally, taking AST from a two person company, with one government contract to over 75 employees and more than 12 federal government contracts with multiple federal agencies in just five years.
Today, Arria resides in Lewis County, West Virginia with her husband and two children. She enjoys giving back and supporting small businesses in West Virginia. Arria serves as a Director on the Teaming to Win Board, which sponsors an annual small business conference in West Virginia that hosts over 300 attendees. She also serves on the West Virginia University MBA Advisory Board and I79 Development Council Board. She was recently appointed to the West Virginia Governors STEM Council.
