Lynne Fruth graduated Magna Cum Laude from West Virginia University in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. A student athlete, Lynne was a member of the WVU Women's Softball team. She received her Masters degree from Marshall University in 1995.

The youngest daughter of Fruth Pharmacy's founder, the late Jack E. Fruth, Lynne grew up in the family business. Following graduation from WVU, Lynne held a variety of positions in both the public and private sector of education including teacher, educational diagnostician and field researcher for the federal government. Lynne began a consulting practice in 1994 and worked extensively throughout West Virginia providing systems consulting for troubled school districts. Lynne's pioneering work in this area was recognized in 2004 when West Virginia adopted many of these programs and put them in place statewide.

Lynne was nominated to the Board of Directors in March 2009 and became the Chairman of the Board in May of the same year. Lynne has been involved in the day to day operations since then and has been instrumental in initiating the new marketing program and working to evaluate, streamline and standardize operational procedures at the corporate office and distribution center. Lynne's focus has been to return Fruth Pharmacy to the being the leader in customer service and customer satisfaction. Following significant positive changes at Fruth Pharmacy, Lynne was named President in 2010. Lynne was elected to the NACDS (National Association of Chain Drug Stores) in 2011. She was appointed to the WV Parkways Authority in 2010 by Governor Joe Manchin. Lynne was a 2012 inductee into the Marshall College of Business Hall of Fame where she joined father, Jack Fruth and became the first Father -Daughter inductees in the Hall of Fame.

Fruth Pharmacy was founded in 1952 and has grown to become a Regional Chain of 26 Drug Stores in West Virginia and Ohio. Fruth ranks in the top 25 chains in the US with an annual gross revenue of $130 million dollars. Fruth employees nearly 700 people in their chain, and is heavily involved in supporting higher education through the Fruth Scholarship Program which awards 26 scholarships each year.
