Meet Thomas Green

Meet Thomas Green, a proud native of Morgantown and a sports management alumnus of West Virginia University (WVU). Green's deep-rooted connection to WVU, combined with his undergraduate business education, ignited his curiosity to further study business. After successfully completing his MBA at WVU, Green is set to embark on an exciting journey with Republic Services in Tampa, Florida. His journey is driven by a passion for business and a commitment to making a positive impact.

For Green, attending WVU was a natural choice as it has been a part of his family's tradition. Moreover, he resonates with the university's land-grant mission, which emphasizes accessibility, community engagement, and knowledge dissemination. The business acumen Green gained during his undergraduate studies fueled his desire to delve deeper into the world of business. Fortunate to receive a graduate assistantship within the Chambers College, Green found himself surrounded by opportunities to enhance his skills and connect with industry professionals.

The MBA practicum series provided Green and his colleagues with regular exposure to guest lectures from seasoned company executives. These sessions offered valuable insights and guidance to navigate their careers successfully. Additionally, our Center for Career Development (CCD) played a vital role in connecting Green with mentors who provided invaluable guidance on integrating into professional environments and building meaningful connections within his future organization.

Green's connections and networking efforts allowed him to contribute his skills to the Scouts of America Summit Bechtel Reserve. As part of this opportunity, he provided consulting services involving market intelligence, marketing strategy, and financial analysis to support their summer day adventure passes. This experience not only fulfilled his passion for supporting West Virginia's economic growth but also served as a stepping stone for his future career in operations and management consulting. Green found the experience rewarding, humbling, and invaluable in shaping his professional trajectory.

Thomas Green's journey from a sports management alumnus to an MBA graduate exemplifies the transformative power of education and the impact of meaningful experiences. WVU's emphasis on practical learning, connections with industry leaders, and a supportive network has played a pivotal role in Green's personal and professional growth.
