President & CEO, City National Company
Charles “Skip” Hageboeck is President and Chief Executive Officer of City Holding
Company (NASDAQ: CHCO) and its principal banking subsidiary, City National Bank,
based in Charleston West Virginia. Based upon the number of branches, City ranks

any financial metric, City has consistently been among the best performing banks
in the U.S. throughout the last decade. Mr. Hageboeck became the Chief

Hageboeck was named President & CEO in 2005. Prior to joining City, Mr. Hageboeck
was the CFO of Peoples Bank in Indianapolis – which sold to Fifth Third Bank
at a record setting price in 1999. He began his banking career at Indiana

the bank’s powerful Asset/Liability Management Committee – responsible for managing
the bank’s loans, deposits, investments, wholesale borrowing, liquidity, interest
rate risk and capitalization.
Mr. Hageboeck holds a doctorate in Economics from Indiana University and graduated
with a BS in Economics from Butler University. He is married to Samantha, and
they have four children. The oldest attends the US Merchant Marine Academy and
the younger children attend public schools in Charleston.
Mr. Hageboeck is active in community affairs. He is the incoming Chairman of the
West Virginia Bankers Association. He is a member of the West Virginia Chamber
of Commerce Executive Committee and Chairman of the state chamber’s Education
