Charles “Skip” Hageboeck is President and Chief Executive Officer of City Holding Company (NASDAQ: CHCO) and its principal banking subsidiary, City National Bank, based in Charleston West Virginia. Based upon the number of branches, City ranks as one of the largest 100 publicly-traded banks in the US.  Based upon virtually any financial metric, City has consistently been among the best performing banks in the U.S. throughout the last decade.  Mr. Hageboeck became the Chief Financial Officer of City in 2001, at a critical time in the Company’s history – with the company operating under a formal agreement with its regulator, and considered by many to be in danger of failing. Following the turn-around, Mr. Hageboeck was named President & CEO in 2005. Prior to joining City, Mr. Hageboeck was the CFO of Peoples Bank in Indianapolis – which sold to Fifth Third Bank at a record setting price in 1999.  He began his banking career at Indiana National Bank as a financial analyst, and rose quickly thru the ranks to head the bank’s powerful Asset/Liability Management Committee – responsible for managing the bank’s loans, deposits, investments, wholesale borrowing, liquidity, interest rate risk and capitalization.

Mr. Hageboeck holds a doctorate in Economics from Indiana University and graduated with a BS in Economics from Butler University. He is married to Samantha, and they have four children. The oldest attends the US Merchant Marine Academy and the younger children attend public schools in Charleston.

Mr. Hageboeck is active in community affairs. He is the incoming Chairman of the West Virginia Bankers Association. He is a member of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee and Chairman of the state chamber’s Education Working Group, Treasurer of the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra, and a member of the Board of Directors of Thomas Hospital in Charleston.
