Dear Chambers College students:

I hope each of you are settling into your new environments and routines as the spring semester resumes in a way that is quite different than the one we all planned. The world is facing an unprecedented global pandemic, and you are learning online when you would have rather been learning and making memories on campus.

WVU’s Encova Center to provide community businesses support through Google and Small Business Administration workshops

West Virginia University is continuing to support West Virginia small businesses through uncertain times by offering critical resources to help them navigate the sharp economic challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Encova Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, housed in the John Chambers College of Business and Economics, will host three upcoming digital workshops in partnership with Google and the Small Business Administration.

WVU’s MSIR students continue to tackle real-life manufacturing challenges through virtual means

A global pandemic isn’t stopping experiential learning at West Virginia University’s John Chambers College of Business and Economics – it’s just shifting it to a virtual environment, teaching students valuable lessons on building resilience and swiftly adapting to the unexpected.

Students of the College’s West Virginia University’s Master of Science in Industrial Relations (MSIR) program are looking at issues with vendor management, human resources and diversity and inclusion as part of their Strategic Management in Human Resources course.

First-ever virtual West Virginia Business Plan Competitions showcases innovative spirit of state collegiate, high school entrepreneurs

While events around the globe are cancelled amid the novel coronavirus pandemic, West Virginia University’s John Chambers College of Business and Economics found a way to continue forward with its annual West Virginia Business Plan Competitions by taking it virtual. 

Each finalist in both the high school and collegiate-level competitions virtually met with a panel of judges Thursday to pitch their business plans and answer questions.

Sales competition season produces fruitful results for Chambers College marketing students

West Virginia University’s Professional Sales program within the John Chambers College of Business and Economics is developing the next generation of sales leaders, thanks to a collaboration of exceptional education, training and faculty.

Students in the program recently finished a busy season of sales competitions, most recently sweeping the competition held at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Another group of students was to compete in the National Shore Sales Challenge at Salisbury University the weekend prior to spring break; however, that was cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
