We are thrilled to welcome you to West Virginia University's campus and to Chambers College.
As we roll into our first week of class, it is now more important than ever to keep your focus and stay connected.
Here are some helpful tips to kick-start your first year as a business student:
- AeSC: AeSC is a study center with presentation practice rooms, group work centers, computer bays and tutors. If you’re feeling overwhelmed or want to review what you’ve learned in class so far, our Academic engagement Success Center (AeSC) is here to help you with Neidermeyer Scholars tutoring support. They can help you with ACCT 201 and 202, as well as ECON 201, 202 and 225.
- Advising: Talk to your advisor about any course questions or semester-long plans early on. Whether it’s a required business course or a fun elective, your advisor is happy to walk you through all of your options. Keep in mind: you are required to meet with your advisor at least once a semester.
- Center for Career Development: Figuring out the right major, career path or life plan can be overwhelming. Set up an appointment with our Center for Career Development (CCD) team, who can help you create your personalized plan and review your resume for internship and job opportunities.
- Carruth Center: We know that college can be stressful, but you don’t have to do it alone! Should you ever need to talk to a professional on managing your mental health and overall well-being, please visit the Carruth Center on campus or contact their free, confidential and 24/7 Crisis Text Line.
- Student Recreation Center: The WVU Campus Rec is free to all students and offers on-site equipment, group fitness classes and other programs. There is something to meet everyone’s fitness needs.
-
Reynolds Hall: Reynolds Hall, named for alumnus Robert "Bob" Reynolds and his wife, Laura, sits on an iconic, riverfront site on the Downtown campus with views of the Monongahela River and direct access to the PRT, as well as from Beechurst Avenue. It is designed to enhance the educational and teaching model, and significantly enhance the student experience at West Virginia University.
