West Virginia Business Hall of Fame now accepting nominations for 2023 class

West Virginia is ready to honor a new class of business success stories.

Nominations for the 2023 West Virginia Business Hall of Fame are being accepted through Jan. 2, 2023. Now in its 22nd year, the Hall of Fame recognizes business leaders who, throughout their careers, have demonstrated extraordinary influence and impact in their fields. Nominations are open to individuals who have built their careers in West Virginia, been educated in West Virginia, or are native to West Virginia.

“The West Virginia Business Hall of Fame has been a shining example of our West Virginia values and spirit of resiliency – and how they have worked together to produce business success stories,” said 2014 inductee Pat Graney III, who recently assumed chairmanship of the Hall of Fame committee from longtime chair W. Marston “Marty” Becker. “West Virginia has influenced their path to success, and in turn, they have left a lasting impact on West Virginia.”

The WVU John Chambers College of Business and Economics has sponsored the Hall of Fame since it was established in 2001. A total of 80 individuals from a broad range of industries have been inducted to date.

The 2022 Hall of Fame inductees included: Joseph C. Eddy, retired president and CEO of Eagle Manufacturing Company; Albert Lewis, president of Glass Inc. International; Elizabeth McIlvain, president and CEO of The Fiesta Tableware Company; and David Simmons, former chairman and CEO of PPD, Inc.

The 2023 West Virginia Business Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs on Aug. 29, 2023.
