MORGANTOWN — Jeff Zidell has joined the faculty of West Virginia University as an adjunct professor of practice within the Hospitality and Tourism Management program in the John Chambers College of Business and Economics.

Zidell is Senior Vice President and Customer Experience Officer of RoomIt by CWT (the specialist hotel distribution division of CWT, the B2B4E travel management platform). He is also the former Senior Vice President of Loyalty Marketing and Partnerships for Hyatt Hotels, where he led a global team responsible for strategy, innovation, promotions, customer communications, partnerships, training and operations for the guest loyalty experience.

MORGANTOWN — West Virginia University’s John Chambers College of Business and Economics is holding a Finance University Boot Camp to provide K through 12 teachers with in-depth understanding of the components of financial education with a focus on investor education topics.

For the fifth consecutive year, West Virginia University’s John Chambers College of Business and Economics held their annual Sales Competition on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019.

Whether this West Virginia native is cheering at sporting events or building her portfolio, Brooke Harlow knows how to keep busy.

In one of those positions, Brooke will be the Peer Career Coach with the Center for Career Development, where she will help students prepare for both their careers and their internship opportunities. In the other, she will be an intern at Fortune 500 company PepsiCo, where she will gain hands-on sales experience. 

West Virginia University is taking the lead in helping the state’s educators prepare students for life’s financial realities.  Naomi Boyd from the  John Chambers College of Business and Economics joins experts from the region to offer resources, including classroom tools and materials and online educational programming in this “teach the teachers” event.  Finance University will be held July 7-11 at the Hampton Inn and Suites at University Town Centre in Morgantown.

How would you describe Amy Toscano? Engaged in her college experience – and embracing every opportunity that comes her way. A senior in global supply chain management at the John Chambers College of Business and Economics, Amy has found a passion for doing whatever she can to get others engaged in the organizations in which she is active. And there are many.

Originally from East Stroudsburg, Pa., Amy chose to become a Mountaineer – and that is a decision that she still celebrates, as it was the first step in opening the door to opportunities that fit her interests and strengths.

He says he has a hard time saying where his home base is between North Carolina and West Virginia. That’s because Avery Gunter has found a love for his home of 10 years in Morgantown.

Avery is a senior double-major in finance and accounting, and as his life outside of college is about to begin, he finds himself busier than ever, whether it’s going to Cooper’s Rock to hike or attending on-campus lectures between classes.

With her freshman year now behind her, business major Madelyn Oberschmidt has already proven that she will be an outstanding student in the John Chambers College of Business and Economics — all while being an athlete.

Madelyn Oberschmidt hails from Wilmington, Delaware, but it didn’t take her long to figure out where she fits in Morgantown, West Virginia. 

With a true passion in her multiple areas of study, Katherine Rexroad has been hooked on West Virginia University’s idea of thinking big since the beginning of her college career.

Hailing from Clarksburg, W.Va., Katherine is a junior in accounting and management information systems, while also minoring in data analytics. And she readily admits that she attributes her passion for her studies to WVU and the John Chambers College of Business and Economics.
