Meet Carl Behm

Sometimes it only takes a single event to ignite a lifelong passion. For Carl Behm, a marketing senior hailing from Maryland, attending a WVU vs. Pitt basketball game was the catalyst that led him to fall head over heels for the pride and spirit of West Virginia University. Since that fateful game, Behm has embraced every opportunity the university has to offer, immersing himself in the learning environment, taking on leadership roles, and building a network that has propelled his career in marketing.

As he graduates with a marketing degree and embark on a promising internship, Behm’s WVU experience exemplifies the transformative power of education, networking, and unwavering dedication.

Behm began his WVU journey by living in the CLIMB, LLC during his freshman year. The experience provided him with a supportive community and a solid foundation for his collegiate endeavors. Building on this early exposure to the university's vibrant atmosphere, Behm found his passion for marketing and discovered a drive to contribute to the WVU community in meaningful ways.

Throughout his undergraduate years, Behm took on several leadership roles that allowed him to give back to his university and foster personal growth. Serving as a Chambers College Peer Mentor and Vice President of the WVU Boxing Club, he embraced the opportunity to guide and inspire fellow students while pursuing his own academic goals. Reflecting on his time as a mentor, Behm remarked, "The learning environment that the building and faculty have created is refreshing. It truly made me excited to go into class and learn every day." The supportive atmosphere at WVU instilled in him a genuine passion for knowledge and a desire to excel.

Behm attests to the ample networking opportunities available within the Chambers College, making it an ideal choice for business students. Beyond the academic knowledge he gained in the digital marketing industry, he credits his professors for emphasizing the importance of time management—a skill that has been invaluable in his personal and professional life. Additionally, the unwavering support from faculty members has played a significant role in his success, solidifying his belief that choosing the business school at WVU is a wise decision regardless of one's specific degree of interest.

With his marketing degree in hand, Behm is preparing to transition into the professional world. He has secured an internship with Pink Dog Digital agency, where he will apply his marketing expertise to real-world projects.

In addition to his internship at Pink Dog Digital agency, Behm has recently accepted a job as an Account Executive at Audacy, Inc. This exciting opportunity further solidifies his career path in marketing and reflects the success and growth he achieved during his time at West Virginia University. With his passion for the field and the invaluable experiences gained through his education and involvement at WVU, Behm is well-positioned to excel in his new role at Audacy, Inc.

Carl Behm's journey at West Virginia University exemplifies the transformative power of finding one's passion, seizing opportunities, and immersing oneself in a supportive community. From falling in love with the university's pride at a basketball game to embracing leadership roles, Behm's dedication to learning, networking, and personal growth has set him on a path to success in the marketing field.
